Did you know that our neighborhood shop Larkey Market and Deli is under new-ish ownership? Kevin Pruitt (pictured above with our three kids) reopened with safety protocols in place last May after buying the store in late 2019.
Pruitt says he dreamed of owning the market since he was 10 years old. He says he used to visit the store as a boy with his friends.
Since taking over, Pruitt has made some nice improvements and has bigger plans for an expanded patio and even outdoor movies.
Pruitt says his number one seller is still the famous layered sandwich and he expects to sell a lot more ice cream now that summer is getting closer.
Pruitt wants to make Larkey Market into more than just a convenience store by stocking items that you can’t find at the local 7-11. But long-time Larkey Park residents might say that it’s already more than just a regular store. Larkey Market is a special neighborhood gem that’s increasingly rare these days. So stop by and pick up a sandwich or even some ice cream!
